Is the PCBA board toxic?

Working in a PCBA environment for a long time is toxic. PCBA pollutants are defined as any surface deposits, impurities, slag, or adsorbents that reduce the chemical, physical, or electrical performance of PCBA to an unacceptable level.

The hazards of PCBA contamination may directly or indirectly cause potential risks to?PCBA, such as:

  1. Organic acids in residues may corrode PCBA;

2. Ion residues may cause short-circuits and failure due to potential differences between solder joints during the powered process;

3. Residues may affect coating effects;

Over time and changes in environmental temperature, coating cracking, peeling, and other reliability issues may arise.

PCBA pollutants are defined as any surface deposits, impurities, slag, or adsorbents that reduce the chemical, physical, or electrical performance of PCBA to an unacceptable level. In order to improve the reliability and quality of electronic products, the existence of residues during PCBA processing must be strictly controlled, and these pollutants must be thoroughly removed when necessary.

PCBA pollution mainly includes the following aspects:

  1. Components that make up PCBA, PCB contamination or oxidation, etc., may bring PCBA surface pollution;

2. During the production and manufacturing process of PCBA, solder paste, solder, and solder wires are used for soldering. The flux in the soldering process will produce residues on the PCBA surface to form pollution, which is the main pollutant;

3. Handprint marks produced during manual soldering, and wave soldering may leave some wave soldering footprints and soldering tray (fixture) marks. The PCBA surface may also have other types of pollution to varying degrees, such as blocking glue, residue from high-temperature tape, handprints, and flying dust, etc.;

4. Pollution from dust, water, solvent vapors, smoke, tiny organic particles, and charged particles caused by static electricity in the workplace may adhere to PCBA.
