PCB copy step by step

PCB copy step by step

PCB duplication, also known as PCB copying, is a complex and delicate process, which mainly includes the following steps:

Get a sample of the circuit board:

First, you need to get a sample of the circuit board to be copied, which can be achieved by taking pictures, scanning or directly purchasing samples to obtain the data of the circuit board.

Record component information:

Record the model, parameters and position of all components in detail on paper, paying special attention to the direction of diodes, triodes and the direction of IC notches.

Use a digital camera to take photos of the position of components to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the records.

Component disassembly and cleaning:

Remove all components, clean the tin in the PAD holes, and clean the PCB with alcohol.

After this step, the cleaned PCB can be placed in a scanner for scanning to obtain a clear PCB image.

Data extraction and processing:

Extract and process the data of the circuit board, including information such as the size of the circuit board, component layout, and routing method.

This can be automated using professional software, or it can be measured and marked manually.

Adjust the contrast and brightness in the image processing software to ensure that the area with copper film and the area without copper film form a clear contrast, then convert to black and white mode and check whether the lines are clear.

Design circuit board:

Start designing the circuit board based on the extracted and processed data, considering factors such as the layout, wiring, and component selection of the circuit board to ensure that the function and performance of the circuit board meet the requirements.

During the design process, it is necessary to draw borders, create component packages, import and edit component packages, place component packages, draw pads and vias, draw traces, and place silk screens.

Make circuit boards:

Make actual circuit boards according to the designed circuit board diagram, which can be done by laser cutting, mechanical drilling, etc.

Solder components:

Solder the required components to the circuit board to ensure that the function and performance of the circuit board are realized, while ensuring the welding quality to avoid problems such as cold soldering and short circuits.

Test and debug:

Test and debug the manufactured circuit board to ensure that its function and performance meet the requirements.

This step requires detailed testing and debugging of each part of the circuit board to ensure the reliability and stability of the circuit board.

Through the above steps, the PCB duplication process can be completed. It should be noted that PCB duplication involves complex technology and delicate operations, which requires professional knowledge and skills support.
