PC Construction, Stantec, and Hazen and Sawyer have completed WSSC Water’s $271 million Piscataway Bioenergy Facility in Maryland.

This advanced facility will convert biosolids into renewable energy, generating $4 million annually and saving customers $3.4 million in operating costs. Set to be operational by early 2025, it promotes sustainability and environmental benefits.

DEWA receives 8 bids for pumping stations project.

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) received eight bids for the Ghafat Idah Reservoir Complex Pumping Station (PS6) and Endurance Road Pumping Station (PD21) project, with a capacity of 30 million imperial gallons per day.

Companies like Binghalib Technology, Danway Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, and Torishima Pump Manufacturing Co. participated. The bidding closed on November 7, 2024, for a 24-month project focusing on advanced electro-mechanical systems.

United Utilities has announced 13 new partners for its upcoming water and wastewater infrastructure investment in the North West.

Selected after a competitive process, firms like AtkinsRéalis and Jacobs will provide modeling support.

Six additional specialists, including Aqua Consultants and GHD, will focus on translating solutions into practical designs for construction and rainwater management projects, pending regulatory approval.

SWPC announces Preferred Bidder for Jubail – Buraydah IWTP.

The Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC) has announced the Preferred Bidder for the Jubail – Buraydah Independent Water Transmission Pipeline (IWTP) Project, selecting a consortium of Aljomaih Energy & Water, Nesma, and Buhur, with a Levelized cost of SAR 3.59468/m3.

The Reserve Bidder is the consortium of Vision International Investment and TAQA at SAR 5.04214/m3. This pipeline will connect the Eastern and Qassim Regions, enhancing water infrastructure with a capacity of 650,000 m3/day.

ACWA Power reports 16% profit increase amid record project launches.

ACWA Power, the largest private water desalination firm, reported a 12.5% increase in operating income to SAR 2,365 million for the nine months ending September 30, 2024. Net profit rose 16% to SAR 1,255 million.

The company achieved financial closure for seven projects worth SAR 31 billion and added 2.4GW of capacity, including the 700MW Ar Rass Solar PV project.
