PBSC's Inflatable Seal Door
Providing the highest possible airtight containment in applications involving high traffic and wheeled equipment.
PBSC's APR pneumatic inflatable seal door set is designed to provide airtight containment for areas with frequent traffic and wheeled equipment such as hospitals, laboratories, and cleanrooms. The ISD door is also known as a containment-controlled door, hospital door, laboratory door, and cleanroom door. Its purpose is to ensure the environment remains clean and free from contaminants.
The frame is flush with the floor, eliminating obstacles or trip hazards, which is critical within a controlled environment.
Air Tight Barrier
Compressed air is operated to inflate the door seal, fitting against the curved door frame, creating a barrier against leakage resistance for pressure differences of up to 2000Pa (8” w.g.). This ensures a secure fit, allowing the use of reliable software during the FAT, and reducing on-site time and risk.
This air seal door set is constructed mainly for containment-controlled facilities worldwide, such as BSL3 and BSL4 laboratories.
Robust Door Leaf
The robust door leaf is available in different materials, including polished stainless steel, powder-coated low-carbon steel, and aluminium. The cleanroom door features PBSC’s unique cast stainless-steel hinge assembly and a toughened or laminated glass flush glazed vision panel within the lines of the stainless-steel door frame.
Construction
The door leaf and architrave are made of 304 or 316 stainless steel and incorporate the inflatable seal. The standard seal is silicone, but EPDM is available upon request.
Architrave and door leaf are supplied in a polished finish as standard to <0.6Ra, but finer finishes are available upon request.

Additionally, a privacy cover is available and added to one side of the door leaf only.
What is an Inflatable Seal
The inflatable seal is created by joining a hollow extruded profile to form an airtight seal that can be inflated to seal two surfaces, providing a clean, time-saving sealing solution to hermetic sealing against powders, gases, liquids, and dust.
Features:
PBSC’s containment-controlled APR door is designed to be easily installed into various wall types, including cast concrete, block, stud, and partition systems. It is mainly used in high containment facilities, such as BSL3 and BSL4 labs, where heavy traffic and wheeled equipment are common.
