PBC 2021 Year in Review & Looking Ahead to PBC 2022

Happy New Year! As I try to do every year, I wanted to share a few thoughts to wrap up 2021 and share what we can look forward to with PBC in 2022. I hope everyone has an amazing 2022 and that we see you all at the PBC 2022 Conference, September 7-8th, in Washington D.C.!

Despite COVID, we were able to safely and successfully host PBC 2021, thank you to everyone who helped make this happen. Special thanks to our Speakers and Sponsors, we really appreciate your support and are excited to continue to grow alongside all of you.?

PBC 2021 Industry Trends

As can be seen from the industry attendance breakdown, the cannabis industry continues to expand to include additional ancillary services. We noticed three major trends throughout the year:

  • More and more financial institutions are starting to work with the cannabis industry, from banking to lending.?
  • More ancillary business solutions providers are joining the industry to provide much-needed services like HR and benefits providers, payroll service companies, insurance providers, and more.
  • Last but not least, the scope of compliance needed continues to increase, as more states legalize, compliance requirements are growing exponentially from all perspectives - banking, payments, and cannabis operators.?

PBC 2021 Keynotes - Regulator & Legislator Participation

We are especially thankful to our Keynote Speakers for taking the time to join us in 2021. Their visible and public leadership in advocating for cannabis reforms and sensible cannabis regulations are vital to the continued growth of the cannabis industry.

Launch of PBC Strategy

In the fall of 2021, we launched PBC Strategy, offering advisory and consulting services to companies looking to get into the cannabis industry, and to those who are already in it and looking to scale. Through our PBC Conference we have brought together some of the most prominent organizations and influential thought leaders in payments, banking, and compliance, and, as a result, have developed a bird’s eye view of the cannabis industry landscape. PBC Strategy complements our efforts with PBC Conference to help the cannabis industry mature and we are excited to help clients from across the landscape!

If you are interested in learning more about PBC Strategy please email me directly at [email protected] for more information.

PBC News

To help everyone in our PBC community stay up to date, we are now sharing articles on the latest in payments, banking, and compliance in the cannabis industry. You can find these articles listed on our PBC News page and we’ll be posting them via our PBC LinkedIn page, so be sure to follow us!

PBC Interviews

We will be launching a page for our PBC Interviews soon…stay tuned to see interviews with our PBC Conference sponsors, as they discuss their companies, services, and how they can help you.

Looking Ahead to PBC 2022

We could not be more excited for our PBC 2022 Conference on September 7-8th, once again at the Capital Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C. We’ll have 2 days of networking, panel sessions, keynotes, and exhibitors with the latest products and services to help your business. Our Awards Ceremony will be back again and we’re adding some additional interactive sessions where sponsors will have the opportunity to conduct a live 1:1 interview with an industry leader on a current topic, with audience participation and engagement. We are continuously applying feedback from our community to continue to make PBC Conferences fun, educational, and a place for you to do business.?

With that said, we can’t wait to see you later this year and look forward to your participation!

Thank you and happy 2022!
