Update on the Internet Takedown

Xiongmai, a Chinese electronics maker has been recalling products because authorities are saying some of these things were used in the Internet takedown last Friday. ICYMI: Last Friday a large DDoS attack took down all of your favorite sites and now Homeland Security is looking to find out who did it. It turns out that hack came from malware being installed on “Internet of Things” devices like webcams and digital recorders, many of which Xiongmai is the maker of. The malware fled a web traffic controller and BAM all your favorite sites are down. Much needed upgrades to security are coming to these devices. (Source: The Guardian)

More Apple Coming Soon

Apple has an announcement on Thursday to which you are probably saying, “didn’t they just do one of those?” Yes, but this time it’s for Macbooks, iMacs and maybe some new things. Supposedly, the Macbook is going to be Apple’s new shining star - goodbye iPhone 7. Rumors are flying as they do and the latest is that the Macbook will be totally redesigned to include a touchscreen strip above the keyboard that includes function keys, a fingerprint scanner, better graphics, and no USB. We’ll have to wait a couple more days to find out what is true. (Source: Time)
