Paying it Forward, One Grant at a Time

At The Restaurant Store, community giving is in our DNA. In honor of Global Pay it Forward Day, we’re showcasing how a few of our employees are using the Employee Grant Program, an initiative from the Clark Associates Charitable Foundation that allows employees to give back to their communities!??

Timothy Reese and the Multiple Sclerosis Walk??

The Branch Manager of our Baltimore East Location, Timothy Reese, used his employee grant to support the Multiple Sclerosis Walk. Through this event, funds are collected to research a cure and to support patients by providing medical supplies like walkers, wheelchairs, and mobility aids. “I believe the employee grant program is a tremendous thing that our company does for its employees. There are a lot of causes out there that our employees care about, and the grant program allows them to help those causes beyond what they might be able to do alone,”?said Timothy.

Brian Weidner and the Bert Moore Memorial Scholarship Fund??

Brian, an Online Order Fulfillment Specialist at our Reading location, used his Employee Grant to support the Bert Moore Memorial Scholarship fund. Twenty-one, $1000 scholarships have been awarded to student-athletes in Berks County since 2017. “Bert Moore was a scholastic football and basketball referee in the Reading/Berks area and a personal friend of mine... Since his passing, a group of friends, family, and colleagues of Bert's have honored his memory through a fund-raising golf tournament plus a lead-up event called ‘Bert Day,’” said Brian.?
