PayGlocal Retreat ’22 was a blast!

When we think we need a break, we should just take it. A philosophy that led us 40+ people flying to the land of seas, beaches, wine, and everything fine, GOA!!?Even though we are a?remote-first company, meeting each other, spending time together, and ditching the work-from-home attire, sounds like a dream.?

We started planning this off-site a couple of months ago. Goa was a dream destination. We had a plan, and the team was enthusiastic. Trust us, the wait was not easy. Each day brought us closer to the excitement and finally, on the 12th?of April, we boarded the flights.

What a delight, seeing everyone wearing their hats, and sunglasses and giggling out of excitement. As we met each other, our hearts were full of joy and a feeling- as if this team had been a long-lost family.?

Wasn’t it, though??

Marriott Goa was kind enough to host us mouth-watering meals and an exotic stay while we were enjoying these moments of soulful bonding and casual, very casual biz meets.?Could not have chosen a better venue.?

We kicked it off with a not-so-formal meet and greet, that soon turned out to be a bandwagon of jolly people. We spoke about our happiest moments, how we started at PayGlocal, and much more!

Later, we had a series of cricket matches, drinks by the shore, laughter taking over conversations, and eyes dimming as we posed for the cameras. Some spoke about strategies, some about the turbulence during the flight, some sweated it out while rehearsing for the upcoming activities and the directors? Ah, always found around their laptops. An evening in Goa, to remember for a lifetime. Some hummus, cheesecake, and rehearsals later, we called it a day.?

Then came day 2. Or like they say, the D-Day.?

Founders’ presentations?about business, growth, innovation, and most importantly, Gratitude- were a perfect way to start our day.?CEO and boss-lady, Prachi Dharani?briefed everyone about what we do, how we play, and how far we wish to go.Tech Guru, CTO, Yogesh Lokhande, spoke about culture, values, and building an A++ team.?Our coolest CPO, Rohit Sukhija?spoke about Innovation and how it can help PayGlocal leap forward with a growth mindset.?The ever-genius CBO, Ruby Jain, reflected on how collaboration and working with people is a way of doing business right.?

Followed by our directors, our pillars of strength who presented their ideas, and progress, and made us envision bigger goals. Each director is the CEO of their own team. From ownership, decision-making, and thinking from a holistic perspective, we have vested all our trust in their expertise. A well-devised plan for the upcoming year was proposed and that left everyone feeling pumped up.?

To talk about our employees is always a matter of pride. From the newest to the oldest joinees, we have seen a culture of togetherness getting established among them. This excites us to welcome the new ones with confidence, integrity, and inclusivity.?

The day kept getting better when we handed?over PayGlocal gift hampers, that contained goodies- handpicked with love from our founders. Smiles, hugs, and some more smiles. To get into the party mode, we did an impromptu follow-along Macarena party!?

The night started with all glitz and glam, as our teams graced the stage with?fashion show, ramp walks, skits, some singing, and the most hilarious winning speeches post-award ceremony. What was left? The DJ night! Hours of non-stop Bollywood-Tollywood-Hollywood jam and our employees making memories at all moments. It was magical.?

Day 3 was bittersweet. We were full of contentment, joy, and gratitude in our hearts. But it was too soon to be saying goodbyes. Promises were made, thank-yous were said and just like that, it was a wrap!?

Honestly,?it did not feel like the first time we met each other. The way we gel, relate, and work- inspires us to collaborate more. Looking at it, it might seem like just another off-site. But as we look closer, we see bonds have been made. Trust being established. Diversity is celebrated and love is shared.?The aligning of a company happens when we sit together, empathize, and ideate. And if we do it by a beach, with some music around, it is simply better. Isn’t it?
