Payd Integrates with Yellow Card

We are excited to announce our integration with Yellow Card’s payments API, Africa’s largest and first licensed stablecoin-based infrastructure provider. This collaboration aims to redefine how freelancers, creatives, and entrepreneurs across Africa unlock income opportunities through seamless intra-African payments.

Africa’s independent workforce is growing at an unprecedented rate, fueled by a young, digital-savvy population and an increasing demand for remote work opportunities. The gig economy in Africa is valued at over $40 billion, with more than 80 million youth engaging in freelancing, content creation, and digital entrepreneurship. However, receiving and managing payments across multiple African countries has long been a major obstacle, limiting opportunities for many talented individuals.

Yellow Card is supporting Payd in powering a robust and borderless payment solution that enables Payd users to sell their services, issue invoices, and receive payments from clients in 20 African countries. This integration will be rolled out as part of Payd v3, the next evolution of Payd’s commerce and invoicing platform, offering users more power, flexibility, and financial access than ever before.

Unlocking Frictionless Payments Across Africa

The ability to accept payments without friction is critical for African freelancers, creatives, and entrepreneurs looking to scale their businesses beyond local markets. With Yellow Card’s extensive payment network integrated into Payd, Mavericks can now receive payments in their preferred currency, with support for mobile money, bank transfers, and stablecoins.

One of the most profound impacts of this partnership is the ability to bridge fragmented financial systems across Africa. Traditionally, payments within the continent have been limited by inconsistent infrastructure, expensive transfer fees, and slow processing times. By leveraging Yellow Card’s network, Payd is eliminating these inefficiencies, making it easier for Mavericks to operate across borders as if they were working within a single economic zone.

Additionally, with stablecoin support, freelancers and entrepreneurs can hedge against local currency volatility, ensuring that their earnings retain value regardless of inflation or exchange rate fluctuations. This feature is especially valuable for digital workers who often deal with international clients but struggle with unfavorable forex rates and delayed payouts.

A Shared Vision for Financial Empowerment

Payd and Yellow Card share a commitment to financial empowerment and economic mobility. This partnership is not just about payments; it is about creating a sustainable ecosystem where Africa’s independent workforce can thrive without limitations. By equipping freelancers, creatives, and entrepreneurs with the tools to manage, grow, and scale their businesses, Payd and Yellow Card are positioning Africa’s digital workforce to compete on a global level.
