Paycheck Protection Program Tracking Sheet

Paycheck Protection Program Tracking Sheet

I have designed a tracking sheet in Excel for the Paycheck Protection Program available from the SBA through the CARES Act specifically for entrepreneurs and soloprenuers. You can download it at the end of this article.

Use this PPP Tracking Sheet so that at the end of the 8 weeks you have a clear path to forgiveness of the money you have received from the Small Business Administration.

It is a spreadsheet so you don't have to use an accounting program. I recommend you use checks for these payments even if you typically use a credit card, EBT or bank transfer. Using written checks will create a clear consistent paper trail that you can easily document when requesting PPP forgiveness.

To Use (Instructions)

Simply enter the amount of money you received from the SBA and the date that you received it. (Delete the sample data).

The forgiveness date deadline is automatically calculated. Total salaries and total utilizes and remaining money are also automatically calculated and displayed at the top of your report for your convenience. (You can identify the fields that are automatically calculated because they are highlighted yellow/gold).

Then each week enter the date, name, check number, and amount. (Delete the sample data). Up to 16 entries are available for input for salaries and up to 8 entries are available for utilities. Need more? Simply right-click on the row number then choose "Insert."

Note that the forgiveness deadline is calculated based on the date that money was deposited in your account. To be safe make sure you spend your money before your deadline! The legislation mandates that the money is spent "over the 8 week period after the loan is made" which may or may nor be the date your money is deposited into your account.

I've pre-filled the spreadsheet with some sample data for you... don't delete the numbers in the yellow highlighted cells. Those are calculated.
