There's so much pressure today to be having a 'perfect life' I dont know anyone with a 'perfect life ' do you ? My life isnt perfect, nor has it ever been. I'm proud of myself for managing to do all I have done and continue to do.
Heres how one person made a difference and changed my life.
Just before my 16th birthday I attempted suicide. I couldn't see any worth in my life I believed others would be better off without me , I overdosed and nearly died.Whilst in the hospital one brief conversation with a stranger, an elderly lady in the next bed, who was at end of her life, turned my life around. The gentle way that she spoke to me offering me a regard and care really touched me, she said "No matter how bad things get you ARE a worthwhile person. You can make your life how you want it to be"
That lady died shortly afterwards - I never knew her name, she could never have known the impact of her statement - You ARE worthwhile.
Christmas time magnifies our loss, our hurt, our lack of family, or financial problems. It can feel exclusive. Sometimes just a few simple words can change the direction of another persons life,we may not always be aware that our smile or simple act of kindness can enable change and create a ripple in its wake that may grow and go on to others. If you are in a good place please give the gift of kindness to others - pay it forwards.
Have a peaceful Christmas time and new year.
Love and Best Wishes to you all
