According to the Veteran Opportunity Report, veterans are 39% more likely than non-veterans to advance in their careers.

The unemployment rate among ???????????????? ?????? 3.8% ???? ???????????? 2021, ???????? ???????? 3.9% ???? ???????? ?????? 7.3% ???? 2020. Many organizations are creating veteran hiring initiatives, veteran hiring preferences, and HR business partners specializing in hiring veterans.

Unfortunately, when veterans try to move from a military job to civilian work after 8-20 years of service, their military accomplishments and talents sometimes get lost in translation.

Inadequate skill translation and skill mismatches are significant causes of veteran underemployment and unemployment.

Returning to civilian life and the civilian workforce is also tricky. It may not be very comforting.

Veterans need to learn all they need to know to succeed in their new civilian careers.

Make a kind but professional greeting. It's nice to hear "please leave a message" in soft voices, but it's unacceptable during the job search process.

Consider your transition into the civilian workforce and be prepared to answer the phone with a welcome like:

"Hello. You've arrived at [name]. I apologize for not having my phone with me. Please leave a message if you are a recruiter or potential employer. "I shall call you back as soon as possible."

Ensure that your work email is not mixed up with or lost with your email. I recommend that you use Gmail or Microsoft Outlook.

Ensure that your job search email address is professional for your usage. Avoid provocative, flirty, or amusing emails, such as [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected].

First and last names are preferable emails; avoid using numerals that include your birth year.

Every email has a full and correct email signature at the bottom. Never use a nickname instead of your real name. It's another chance to demonstrate your professionalism and suitability for the position.

1- This is your online résumé.

2- It's the ideal way to build professional network.

3-It's a way to demonstrate your expertise.

Make a point of removing everything that might offer a recruiter a cause to reject you. You want your online personal branding and photographs to represent you in the best way possible.

Use the same assurance while putting everything on the line for the mission and team.

Accelerate the process by beginning with appropriate body language and conversation and eliminating military jargon.

When you are asked during a conversation, "What did you do in the Navy?" or "How long did you serve?" Describe your military background in preparation for a business position.
