Paul, Christian Worker - Selfless

"But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God." - Acts 20:24

Paul's life was marked with incredible sufferings. Beatings, imprisonment, stoning, and eventually beheading were all parts of his life. He knew hunger and pain. We see in Acts 20:24, that none of that mattered to him. He had a singular focus. The work he had been given to do for others superseded himself. Paul shows himself to be selfless. His focus drawn to others wholly. How might our businesses be changed if our leadership showed the same servant leader type selflessness that Paul displays. HIs thoughts and actions were always for the betterment of others. Is that not the definition of a servant leader? Is that not an example we all should pursue as we lead others?

Paul devalued is own life in humility to serve others. He sought the joy that comes from a victorious life filled with the joy of the Lord. His course was hard, but his prize was to be like Christ. The benchmark should never fall among the mortal. Itis too low a goal, Michaelangelo said it best - "The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high, and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it." We must focus on the heavenly example of Christ, who as God in the flesh, humbled himself and cleaned the feet of His disciples and gave His life for all willingly... being innocent of all sin.

Let us continue to challenge ourselves to be more like Christ and his apostle Paul and lead with a measure of selflessness that improves all those around us. Let us never forget it was others who helped us to become who we are. We have an obligation to pay it forward.
