Paul, The Christian Worker - Constant
Acts 20:18 -"And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons."
Many people live their life like sprinters, jumping out of the blocks strong and finishing quickly. Great for sprinters, terrible for the business world and the Christian. Life is a marathon. The key is being constant. Never changing and always going forward. Paul personifies this in Acts 20:18 in the words "from the first day" and " after what manner I have been with you AT ALL SEASONS." Paul was constantly moving towards a goal... regardless of his circumstances. O that God would give the world more constant people. How would that change our churches and our businesses. Let's consider this thought together.
An employee that displays a constant manner is easily seen. They are always working hard and doing right. They are looking out for other team members. They possess a relentless drive towards the goal set out before them - no matter how significant or insignificant it may appear. Who couldn't use that employee, or ten of those employees. That employee serves as a model to guide their fellow employees to the prize. Oftentimes, they find themselves in management or consideration for such. They understand the company vision and mission. They are essentially your ideal employee profile embodied.

Now for the church, people miss services unnecessarily, neglect the reading of God's Word and prayer, and the sharing of their faith but amongst these stands a handful who love the Word of God, are fervent in prayer, speak God's truth to others, and all in all through every hardship remain victorious in their Christian life. They strive to be the Definition of Christian as mockingly called by dissenters in Acts - "Little Christs" or acting like Him or His example. These are ones who work to insure there is a remnant of God's people for future generations as commanded of God. Even through the worst situations, they have joy. Which are you? Which would you prefer to be? One is chastised as God's child to draw near; the other walks close to their Savior and finds rest and peace through all this life can challenge them with.
In both environments, these people are game changers for simply remaining constant in their identity and purpose. May you be challenged to be constant in a good thing and in purpose as a believer and a laborer in the workplace.
