A Pattern of Good Works: The Testimony of A TRUE Servant of God!

I never like to brag about myself nor “toot my own horn” as they say, as a very well known Scripture in Proverbs, 27:2 reads: “Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth: a stranger, and not thine own lips.” But since I’m about to turn 60 TODAY I decided to write about my life, about ALL my abilities, accomplishments, assets, attributes, and TALENTS!

When God called the Israelites out of Egypt, He intended to lead them out of that worldly system into a new way of life. He wanted Israel to establish a new pattern—a godly lifestyle that submitted to God’s government and laws.

By Israel’s example, all other nations would be able to see firsthand the blessings that naturally result from following God’s laws. Israel, though, failed at this high calling. Rather than setting a righteous pattern for the rest of the world to follow, the Israelites followed after the world’s wicked pattern to this day.

Today, God has given His Church—spiritual Israel—the responsibility of setting the right example for this world. He expects us to succeed where ancient Israel failed. Our way of life should serve as an example the world can follow.

At Ambassador College, I was able to receive an abundance of instruction based on that godly pattern: how to pray, the keys to understanding the Bible, the principles of proper nutrition, the art of true Christian fellowship and dating, good sportsmanship, and so on. The way of life which prepared me to become the professional and proficient individual I AM TODAY.

In 1 Timothy 4:12, the Apostle Paul highlighted the importance of establishing a godly pattern of conduct. He told Timothy, “Let no one despise or think less of you because of your youthful ways, but try to be an “excellent” example [or pattern] for the believers, in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity” (Moffatt).

Timothy, was expected to set the right example. Paul wanted the brethren to see a righteous pattern that they could follow.

In today’s world, this rarely happens. Most “leaders” just tell people how they should live without actually setting the example themselves. But true Christian leaders practice what they preach. Of course, everyone makes mistakes. But if a person is following God’s lifestyle, the example he sets will be one of constantly correcting bad habits and overcoming.

Verse 15 continues, “Practice and cultivate and meditate upon these duties, throw yourself wholly into them, so that your progress may be evident to everybody” (Moffatt). Meditate on God’s laws. Put those laws into practice. Give yourself wholly to the task. If you do, your progress will be evident before all!

Titus 2:6-8 also underscore the importance of example: “Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing incorruptness, gravity, sincerity, Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.”

What a responsibility! We are here to practice a pattern of good works. That’s what true Christianity is all about. It’s a way of life—God’s way of living. God wants that righteous pattern on display for others to follow.

A Christian isn’t someone who merely learns about the Bible—it’s someone who lives it! Unless it changes our behavior, God’s Word serves no purpose.

In Ezekiel 43, God showed His prophet a vision of His headquarters to be established in Jerusalem during the World Tomorrow. In verse 10, God says, “Thou son of man, show the house to the house of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their iniquities: and let them measure the pattern.”

“Can you imagine how the Ezekiel temple will alter the course of this world?” my father asks in Ezekiel—the End-Time Prophet. “How it will capture the imagination of all earthly inhabitants? … The world will focus on the Ezekiel temple and have their thinking and way of life revolutionized! Then the whole world will be stirred and inspired to obey God.”

God told Ezekiel, “And if they be ashamed of all that they have done, show them the form of the house, and the fashion thereof, and the goings out thereof, and the comings in thereof, and all the forms thereof, and all the ordinances thereof, and all the forms thereof, and all the laws thereof: and write it in their sight, that they may keep the whole form thereof, and all the ordinances thereof, and do them” (verse 11). It still serves God’s purpose to establish that pattern—even if people reject God’s lifestyle. God says show them the form of the work of the building so they might be ashamed. A righteous example, in other words, serves as a visible warning to those who will not amend their ways.

A Righteous Example of Good Works

I began walking with God when I was called by Him by watching a message of THE WORLD TOMORROW telecast by Herbert W. Armstrong in 1982. Then in 1985 I was baptized by Mr. Bill Pearson an elder in the Worldwide Church of God in Miami. I then "backslided" back into the world as soon as "apostasy" took over in the church and like Jonah I wanted to run away from any "ministerial" responsibility. Back God somehwo reeled me in and brought me back "to finish the work that He had started in me" (Philippians, 1:6). In 1997 I began preaching on Sundays at a local church of the Assemblies of God denomination here in Quito, Ecuador where I currently reside in order to help its Brazilian minister in this task of preaching a “message” from God’s Word, the Bible, he couldn’t speak Spanish and wanted me to sort of “takeover” on the sermons while he took care of other administrative duties of his congregation and church. It gave me an opportunity to really preach the TRUTH of God and that’s why I guess God had allowed me to take on this endeavor. I realized then that God wanted me to continue the work that He had begun with Herbert W. Armstrong who as the "symbolic" Elijah of our "modern times" and so He had passed away and also passed his mantle to me as a "modern day" type Elisha!

In that very same year I began to write, produce and print a monthly newsletter that I would distribute freely called: La Simple Verdad (The Simple Truth) and I did this every month till 2000. In the meantime I began to visit jails and prisons in Ecuador in order to preach to the inmates and those incarcerated here.

In 2009 I was “officially” ordained by the Ministerial Seminary of America and fully authorized to perform ministerial duties. “Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of His power. Unto me, who am less than the least of ALL saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles (the heathen) the unsearchable riches of Christ; And to make ALL men see what is the fellowship of the mystery (HIDDEN TRUTH), which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created ALL things by Jesus Christ: To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, According to the eternal purpose which He purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: In whom we (as His TRUE ministers) have boldness and access (to God’s Throne) with confidence by faith of Him.” Ephesians, 3:7-12

And then in 2010 I became ordained as “an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead ;)” Galatians, 1:1. “Whereunto I AM ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not ;) a teacher of the Gentiles (the heathen) in faith and verity.” 1 Timothy, 2:7. And it was also then that God gave me a NEW name: “Jeshurum” (which means righteous man of God) by Jesus Christ (see Rev., 2:17) And so again I AM “a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of the TRUTH which is after godliness, In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; But hath in due times manifested His word through (my) preaching which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Savior” (Titus, 1:1-3)

This is why I can fully proclaim to God the following: “O LORD, the hope of Israel, ALL that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me (and from my words and preaching) shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters. Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise. Behold, they say unto me, Where is the word of the LORD (that you prophesied)? Let it come now. As for me, I have not hastened from being a pastor to follow thee: neither have I desired the woeful day; thou knowest: that which came out of my lips was RIGHT before thee (in ALL of my podcasts, radio shows, Bible studies and sermons)” Jeremiah, 17:13-16. And I can also say to God: “They that fear thee will be glad when they see me; because I have hoped in thy word. Psalm, 119:74 and “I am a companion of ALL them that fear thee, and of them that keep thy precepts.” Psalm, 119: 63

Now with this in mind please understand that just like Paul: “I AM the least of the apostles (and evangelists in God’s Church), that am not meet (or worthy) to be called an apostle, because (I’m frail and very carnal sometimes). But by the grace of God I AM what I AM: and His grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they ALL: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” (1 Corinthians, 15:9-10)

Charitable Works: the Way of LOVE and Outflowing Concern

Many a time I have let “complete strangers” stay at my place who claimed they had nowhere to go or sleep and I even gave them my bed and slept on my sofa, and I did it by FAITH ALONE! I adopted and cared for 10 cats and kitties at my home and I saw 7 female cats give birth in my house and helped them with their babies. I always gave to whomever came up my door asking for a buck without hesitation.

God has blessed me and provided for me because of my “unselfish” generosity and by applying that precious rule Christ gave: “It is more blessed to GIVE than to RECEIVE!” So I’ve always acquainted myself with the needy and poor of this world and anointed with oil and prayed over as many as I could in order to use my gift of healing as an ordained minister of God. One time this girl came to my door and told me that she and her husband where in “dire straits” and I handed her my total weekly pay of $430.00 cash so they could get a place to live!

I know the Bible says: “Do not let your left hand know what the right hand does” (Matthew, 6:3) But it’s talking really about people who love to “show off” in front of others “publicly” like those Millionaires and Billionaires who play the hypocritical “philanthropic” game and donate to a certain Foundation for “selfish purposes” and in order to get a nice TAX BREAK! I decided to share this things with you because you need to know there is really a “GOOD” side of me that comes from having God’s Holy Spirit living daily in my life! I therefore, also created and founded WIDFA a “non-profit” organization in order to help and support the “fatherless and the widows” as instructed in James, 1:27. Many Talents and Abilities Multiplied

Many of you may be familiar with the parable of the “talents” found in Matthew, 25:14-30. If you’re not I really suggest you blow the dust off your Bible and read it! It will open your eyes to understanding why God has given you certain abilities, gifts, and talents. And what is it that we must do to develop them and to possibly “multiply” then as I have done! For example: God gave me the gift of “gab” from even an early part of my adolescence, and then I was trained in Oratory and Public Speaking through the “Spokesman Club” which was sponsored and provided as part of my training for the ministry by Ambassador College and the “Ambassador Club” in God’s Church. So I became a “preacher of righteousness” like Enoch, and a Radio Show Host and an “excellent” Communicator at All levels!

He also gave me the gift of “tongues” and speaking various languages 4 of them “fluently” like: English, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish and 3 of them just “conversationally” and basic words like: Aramaic/Hebrew, French and Russian making them a total of 7 languages!

He gave me the gift of a “GOOD” singing voice! So with this gift I then developed the gift of composing, writing and producing music and so I have written, produced and composed to date more than 300 songs already and various Mp3 Albums which I have on sale on my music website:

And I have also done thousands of “cover songs” under both artistic names of DVoiz and Majestik G and I have been very blessed and fortunate to have had the pleasure of singing duets with some of the BEST female vocalists of this world! For being an “unknown” and not popular “indie” artist, I sang duets with Celine Dion, Diana Krall, Diana Ross, Natalie Cole and Sharon Paige at least once! I’ve sang also with “virtually” the GREATEST Bands, Groups and Orchestras out there like: Dramatics, Bloodstone, The Manhattans, Harold Melvin & the Bluenotes, Intruders, Orquesta Aragon, Trio Los Panchos and Tipica Tropical.

Among the many things I’ve done in my life thus far which brings me a GREAT deal of satisfaction and accomplishment now at age 60 are having so many different skills, job functions, job duties, positions, and titles in life especially in my “overall” work experience and career! A “Real Life” 007

Even though I was never trained nor employed by all the known intelligence agencies out there like the CIA, the KGB, MI6, or the Mossad nor have been one of their “Ops” (operatives) or Secret Agents. Like “Good” Old 007 James Bond I possess a nice mix bag of roles, duties and job experiences that are nothing short of “AMAZING” and “INCREDIBLE” just like Bond. I’ve been an “Activities Director”, “Cruise Director”, “Court Bailiff”, “Court Clerk”, “Zoning Plans Processor”, “Energy Efficiency Expert”, “Marina Supervisor”, “Limo Chauffeur”, “DJ”, and many other enviable titles and occupations. Although writing is really my passion now, just like it was for Ian Fleming and Ernest Hemingway. Ever since I read Oscar Wilde’s “The Importance of Being Earnest” I wanted to make honor to my name in all earnest and to earnestly write and create “thought-provoking” articles, blogs and writings that people could read and truly appreciate, apprehend, absorb, and ENJOY a “GOOD” reading!

TODAY is my birthday, and as I write this my poor wife is having surgery in a local hospital, it saddens me to know that her health is NOT so good and slowly but surely deteriorating so God is “slowly, but surely” preparing me for the worse! It may well be that by this time next year I could be a “widower” so please pray for me! I'm so glad that God has used me as an "instrument" to gear her and lead her to His wonderful TRUTH! And He brought me into her life in the "nick of time" as they say just as He brought Elijah into the widow's life and home in Zarephath (1 Kings, 17:9-24), He brought me into her life when she was a lonely widow who was very depressed and tried to even commit suicide due to the loss of her dead and deceased husband. And just recently about a month just before the "Feast of Tabernacles" she decided to commit and give her life to God and so I was able to baptize her in a brook nearby and she received the gift of God's Holy Spirit by my laying of hands upon her head as instructed in Scripture.

The Bible says that “A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one’s birth.” Ecclesiastes, 7:1 And so after 60 years of life in this wicked, perverse and EVIL world I do look forward to dying more than to living to be honest with you! I hope that you can learn and get something out of this article which I wrote this day, that would work towards your benefit and allow you to become “followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.” (1 Cor. 11:1) Jesus said: “Behold, I make ALL things NEW!” (Rev. 21:5) and that is what this month of November was meant to do in our lives: “BRING ON NEW THINGS!” and to help us “WALK IN NEWNESS OF LIFE!” So especially those of us who are Christ’s we must follow Paul’s admonition in Romans, 6:4: “Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” “And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man (woman), which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” Ephesians, 4:23-24. God has given me a tremendous and awesome calling to serve Him as His minister and by being a “GOOD” example to others! I know that many a time I’ve fallen short of being such a GREAT example according to God’s standards but as is written in Proverbs, 24:16: “For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.” So I hope you do follow my “pattern of GOOD works” as best as you can! “For I AM now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a GOOD fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto ALL them also that love His appearing.” 2 Timothy, 4:6-8.

Let them measure the pattern, God says. He can’t force repentance. But if people are willing, they can measure and prove everything about God’s way of life by simply examining the work of God’s true servants!

God’s work—of which you can be a part—is here to give this world hope! Even as this evil world falls apart, God tells His people to get out and build, both spiritually and physically.

Let your light shine so others might see, Jesus said. Show the world a righteous pattern, God told Ezekiel. Be an example in conduct, Paul admonished his young assistant Timothy.

In all things, show yourself to be a pattern of good works!
