THE PATH TO GREATNESS

Greatness and significance are what many desire and many are willing to pay a certain price to get to prominence and significance. The truth however is that we should realize that we all have greatness in us, but the courage to pursue true greatness is what matters. On our journey, we must never allow evil or selfishness to prevent us from getting to our destination.

Many people don't realize that greatness is not in the possession of material wealth and fame alone. In fact, if your all-consuming passion is to be significant and great with possessions at the expense of anything else then the greatness you seek may be tainted (After all Adolf Hitler also was great). True greatness lies in the ability to be concerned about a single person, even when others consider it a waste of time, the ability to admit blame even when you are correct, the ability to remain humble and learn from others even though you have experience over them, the ability to recognize your own weakness, learning courage in the process and finally true greatness is the ability to stay committed to your good values when other people are making a mess of theirs at the thought of money.

The fact is, we must start changing our philosophy we should make our children understand the value of consideration for others, love, and know the beauty of also making others happy. It is not uncommon in our country today to see people do anything for their own self-glory and image at the expense of other people's well-being. We must begin to re-evaluate greatness, not in the possession of material things, but on these values, love, humility, forgiveness, and the willingness to help others. What do you think? Please share your thoughts.

Greatness = Kindness + Empathy The above is a simple equation, but the treasure is hidden there. The more we dig into it, the closer we go to find the diamond (greatness)—great post, as always, Victor Braimoh.
