The path to earning six figures (hint: it’s not about hard work)
There is no secret blueprint for earning six figures. No reading list.?
You are not working towards a pay raise. You are working towards changing how you are.?
Most people want a six-figure life: financial freedom, confidence, the ability to make big, bold choices, not care what others think, be autonomous in our work, and all the good things that come with money.?
But most people approach it from where they are now. They bring their current habits, thoughts, and beliefs into the process, even though they are the very things keeping them stuck. It’s not intentional. Most of us operate in the only way we know how.?
For example, you might come to me and ask me to help you create the six-figure career you dream of. But when I tell you it requires time and money commitment, you hesitate.?
Maybe because you don’t really think you have time for it. Money for it. Because you don’t think you can do it. Or that I can do it.?
Bottom line: you have thoughts and beliefs and you rely on them to guide you.
So I want to offer you something you can try today: sit quietly for ten minutes and imagine yourself already living in that six-figure reality. You’re in the role you’ve dreamed about, and the money is flowing in.?
Pause and ask yourself: how do you feel? How do you carry yourself? What does your day-to-day life look like? How do you approach conversations, decisions, and challenges??
Be honest with what comes up. You might feel excited, but you might also notice resistance. Thoughts like, “Do I really deserve this?” or “What if I can’t handle that responsibility?” or “What if they find out I don’t know how to do this?”
Write it all down. This way you can become aware of the gap between the version of you right now and the version of you living that six-figure life.
Once you’ve done that, consider continuing.?
Every day, ask yourself: “Who do I need to be to create this reality?”
Notice where your current actions, thoughts, or even self-talk don’t align with that future version of you. Maybe you’re avoiding tough conversations, shrinking back from opportunities, or holding onto habits that don’t serve your growth. Start catching yourself in those moments. This awareness alone is a huge step.
And then there’s the process.
Take one small action each day that challenges the beliefs keeping you stuck. If you don’t feel worthy of six figures, ask yourself, “What’s one thing I can do today to prove that belief wrong?”?
It might mean speaking up in a meeting where you’d usually stay quiet, setting a boundary with your time, or starting to track your wins (no matter how small) so you can see how capable you really are.
This can be quite difficult to do on your own. But definitely not impossible, if you put your mind and heart to it.?
Over time, you start shifting how you show up. You stop waiting for permission to own your potential. You stop acting like someone ‘hoping’ for success and start being the person who creates it.?
