A Path to Daily Motivation and Productivity

A Path to Daily Motivation and Productivity

Maintaining motivation every single day can be challenging. If someone claims they consistently achieve all their daily objectives, they might not be sharing the whole story, or they could be relying on some "magic pills."

With over 15 years of experience managing teams, I've come to understand that there are better and worse days. Some days, you might feel demotivated, unwell, or simply overwhelmed when things don't go as planned. In such situations, I recommend acknowledging these feelings and not being too hard on yourself. Taking a short walk, pausing for a while, or discussing the challenges can be quite helpful.

It's unrealistic to keep your team 100% busy and fully allocated to tasks at all times. Such an approach is inhuman.

Back-to-back meetings can be a symptom of underlying issues, not a sign of productivity. It's sometimes a way to justify one's presence rather than achieving meaningful results.

The concept of productivity has its roots in the industrial age and old habits, where the focus was on squeezing as much "work" into the shortest time possible.

This often resulted in increasing workloads and responsibilities just to get more tasks done within agreed timeframes.

While certain processes and habits, such as time management and task prioritization, are indeed valuable, they become problematic when they are presented as a one-size-fits-all solution.

Believing that what works for one person should work for everyone and that it's solely up to individuals to make it happen, is a common excuse for setting up potential failure. It's akin to the idea of a magical elixir that can solve all problems.

Understanding what motivates you, what you truly value, and your personal values is essential.

Once you have this self-awareness, you can develop a process or daily routine that aligns with your motivations and goals. Learning from others is valuable, but rather than copying their approaches verbatim, adapt their insights to fit your unique circumstances.
