?? Are you feeling stuck in a middle management position, unable to make any reasonable changes or decisions? Maybe you're a pseudo manager.
?? In Senior Care organizations, it's common to identify a super worker and offer them a promotion into some type of leadership position. However, they often face limitations and restrictions, making them feel like they're not really in charge.
?? The key to becoming an actual manager is to be amazing at your job. Whether you're a dishwasher, housekeeper, nurse, or HR clerk, be the best at it. That's how you get promoted into a leadership position. ??
?? But that's not all. You also need to understand the business of senior care. Start by asking really good questions every time a decision is made. Attend morning meetings and pay attention to how different departments run. ??
?? Once you start demonstrating that you have this knowledge and are making reasonable arguments, people will start to take notice. You'll need to prove that you understand the business of senior care and would make good decisions. ??
?? Once you make that leap from a pseudo manager to an actual manager, you'll be promoted into a higher level of management where you'll be in charge of other managers, including pseudo managers. So keep pushing yourself, and you'll get there! ??
As always, I hope I made you think and smile.
