The Path Ahead. Reflecting on Where We Go From Here.

This morning, I woke up with a heavy heart and a sense of disbelief. Donald Trump's re-election has left me grappling with emotions that are hard to contain. I’d held onto faith that we, as a country, were moving toward something better—more compassionate, equitable, and respectful of our differences. Instead, I’m faced with a reality that feels like a backward step, especially for women, the vulnerable, and all who believe in justice and inclusivity.

The challenges ahead feel immense. In recent years, the rights and protections that many of us fought tirelessly for have come under threat, from reproductive health and personal autonomy to protections for marginalized communities. And now, the person leading our country is someone whose actions and words often echo discrimination, self-interest, and disdain for those who don’t share his perspective. Women, once again, find themselves at a disadvantage in a society that has never fully leveled the playing field for us – a reality highlighted by ongoing wage gaps, opportunity barriers, and now, more aggressively than ever, limits on our personal rights.

But amidst the pain, I remind myself that there are still ways to fight, still avenues to pursue. As we grieve, we must also rise and be committed to doing everything we can to protect what matters most. Perhaps this election can be a turning point in a different way – one where we band together, support organizations that advocate for women and marginalized groups, and use our voices to bring awareness and change, no matter how long it takes.

I don’t have all the answers right now—none of us do. But I believe in the power of resilience, community, and speaking up even when it feels hard. To everyone feeling the weight of this moment, know that you’re not alone—and that, together, we can keep striving for a future we can believe in.
