Passivhaus Trust Newsletter: July 2022
This month the UK topped temperatures of 40C and?Passivhaus?has been mentioned repeatedly in the National press as people look for resilient building solutions. Are your buildings habitable in high temperatures? If not and you want to explore whether Passivhaus might help you,?take advantage of our free summer comfort short course.
It was great to see so many of you online & in person to celebrate our 12th anniversary at our first hybrid event. A summary & recording of the topical discussion is available to all. In addition, we were delighted to hear at the event that PHT Patron Ecology Building Society’s C-Change mortgage has increased discounts for Passivhaus projects, if you or your clients are seeking green finance for your builds.
Thanks to all who responded to the proposed Scottish Private members Bill; fingers crossed for a positive outcome from the consultation.?The High Court recently ruled in favour of Climate Earth against the Government’s net-zero strategy, concluding that it breaches the Climate Change Act and must be strengthened. Perhaps the heatwave and these policy actions will start to move the dial in the right direction for CO2 emissions.
Finally, our Conference plans are underway and, after 150+ students registered and participated in webinars & workshops, we can reveal the winners of the Southside Hereford University Design Challenge.
Enjoy the summer and we’ll return for a busy Autumn Programme; get the below dates in your diary!
