Side hustle / New income stream challenge

Hello Everyone, So recently I build a new income stream from scratch. It was few years ago when I started affiliate marketing and started my first passive income source. But it was not very fulfilling, I was always looking to do something which gives me happiness.

After a lot of thinking during pandemic, when I got a lot of extra time. I decided to something, which i was thinking from a lot of years. That was a you tube channel. but the problem was I had no idea how to make a video, I got skills but not the package to show my skills.

So this idea comes from an habit. So I have a background in IT and I am a programmer and I helped so many friends to build their website. And in last few years, i teach many young students/ college pass out that how to build a website. and that was really fulfilling when I did that thing. So this bring the idea to start YouTube channel so that I can reach to a lot if audience and help them to build their websites.

So finally one day in year 2020 i created one video, and trust me it was pathetic video, i didn't know how to present myself on camera, how to speak , which software to use to edit videos. but anyway I created a video, which I look now back and can say i would not watch such a bad recorded and edited video myself. but at the same time I am proud / happy that I made that first video.

So now as you know this passive income is youtube channel where I teach people how to make website, to be honest when I started the channel it never came into my mind that it can be a income source, because I was so motivated to look for a purpose and make an impact.

In last year and because of that crappy first video now I make videos which I can say i can recommend to any one to watch and when I publish the videos I am happy to watch is last time before publishing.

I learned how to speak to camera, how to present myself and how to use a editing software. After using so many editors now I am settled on Premiere Pro.

Just so summarize, I created 96 videos until now , which were like around 1 video / week. Some were 2 minute videos some 5 some 10.

I started just a screen recording and voice, after many videos I started making better video with footage of myself talking, screen recording, animations, sound effects and many more nice things.

Once I started making better videos, i start doing more research and it came to my mind that it can be a passive income stream. And I started researching more about how other tech youtube channels are doing. That's it, i decided I will push my limits.

To be honest, I will not say I gave my blood and sweat in this, it was one video per week only. May be for few hours, i worked hard, but nothing I can say that I grinded myself in last one and half year. it was a consistent and easy journey;

The main thing to tell all this is that I decided to make one video per week and that's it . I learned all on the way of making that one video/week. Some weeks I missed too.

Since I started thinking as building this YT channel as new income stream, I started asking my self that what will be different in my channel from other Tech youtubers, clearly I am not very good at screens and dialogue delivery is average; seems tough competition, but finally i found what I am already doing and will be my forte among all other channels.

So that thing was to make, short , compact and to the compact tutorials. Clearly, at this point i was getting 10 - 15 views some days. But this uniqe quality of my channel made hard for me to earn money from Youtube partner programme. Because I need 1000 subscribers and 4000 watch hours to get monitized.

After making 59 videos I reached to 4000 watch hours, but I was very far from 4000 watch hours. But I stayed consistent and after 96 videos and 2025 subscribers i finally completed the 4000 watch hours. and I applied for youtube monetization.

And I was accepted, and after 2 days this income stream which i work max 10 hours per week (Most of the weeks less than 5 hours) finally become true. when I look back I can see it was like using 30 minutes less of social media average everyday.

And yes as of writing this post after 3 days of monetization, i saw some real numbers about the potential of youtube monetization, It was not a big amount of money but it was 20.39 Euros in first 3 days. not bad , not bad as passive income. Around 7 euros / day. and I know if i will make 1 video every week or couple my channel will keep growing and this miney will also increase. With that data YT paid me 13 EUROS/ 1000 views. I check in the backed.

The whole purpose of this post is that it is just question of taking first step and working towards a goal. I will keep posting the stats of the progess, may be I will be able to motivate/guide some people to start a new income stream.

Also we together gonna see if this income stream will be worth to out time and if it will fail or I will burn out or take another directions in my life, what ever I want to make all of you partner in this journey.
