Passive House Romanticism

In a previous post I showed the "water powered" sawmill that was cutting the frame for the new Tmberframe Passive House. I've been around a whole lot of house framing, but there is nothing as charming as a big ole timberframe. I found myself standing in awe of the big beams finely jointed in concert, hammered together by big wooden mallets and long wooden pegs, only to reveal this beautiful 3 dimensional puzzle. The craftsmanship coupled with the warmth in the color of the wood and the strength in the size of the timbers left me feeling we are doing something special here. Not to mention the Passive House/Zero Energy performance goal we are out to achieve........
