Passive data capture is one of the key enablers of personalized care

Passive data collection should be the foundation of any digital personalized care solution, as it provides the data needed to drive other features and initiatives such as artificial intelligence and predictive algorithms, coaching, disease tracking and population management. I make a case for this point in a recent whitepaper* on how technology can help facilitate personalized care for rare disease patients.
Crucially, passive data capture is designed to make it as easy as possible for patients to gather and share their data with little or no input by using connected devices, wearables and smartphone-based approaches. This not only allows a consistent approach to data capture, but it also helps reduce the burden placed on the patient or caregiver.
Generating outcome data is an additional benefit of passive data capture. Outcome measurement is important to not only keep patients motivated and HCPs informed, but also to support discussions with payers and demonstrate treatment effectiveness.
At Takeda, we know just how important it is to integrate passive data capture into personalized care solutions. To find out more, read this recent whitepaper* where I talk about passive data collection as one of the key building blocks in the personalization of care.
