Unfortunately, many of us can display this type of behaviour from time to time so it can be hard to pinpoint whether our leaders really fits the typical passive aggressive stereotype. I have noticed that often passive aggression can be very subtle so the key is to pay attention and work out whether this is a pattern of behaviour or whether they are just having an off day . In the past I have noticed that passive aggressives feel they cannot speak out directly, so drop hints and make comments and vague suggestions in the hope that someone will pick it up and do something about it. When their needs are not met they can become increasingly sarcastic or critical and leave you wondering what you did wrong or whether you are mad.

Great topic to think about. In my view it ties to being genuine, exercising an open mind to welcome ideas. Being clear what can happen as opposed to a simple dismissal.

I've seen it many times, sometimes the elephant on the room gets behind the passive-aggressive stop debate curtain. It is so refreshing you openly bring that up, not only for self-reflection and course correct but as a call to action that can permeate corporate cultures if adopted starting from the top. Thanks.
