Great article in The Atlantic about careers. The quote above is from it, and summarizes it well, although I think a full read is in order.

I see this phenomena as I talk to college students, my own and others, but also people at all stages of their careers. And, I too feel like a case-study for this, as I've 'developed' a few more passions along the way, and hope I've got a few more in me.
