Passionate? Just Get On With It!

Passionate? Just Get On With It!

Today, you find me consumed with admiration and envy.? Admiration and envy for those organisations and people who declare themselves to be ‘passionate’ about something or other - flooring, sofas, business growth, Staffordshire - whatever it is that they may be involved in.? You often see it in advertisements and, increasingly, on LinkedIn under people’s names in lieu of job titles. Passion, it seems, is not just important; it’s everything.

Now just imagine being that driven by anything that you’d happily describe as your ‘passion’!? Not only are you involved in it, skilled enough to provide it and determined to deliver it, you are ‘passionate’ about it!? It consumes your every waking moment, your every thought.? It drives your very being!? It is your entire raison d-etre!

Wow.? It must be exhausting.

You see, being ‘passionate’ about anything…well, it’s just an empty phrase really.? It means nothing - or rather, it doesn’t mean what people think it means, or what people are using it to describe.? It’s simply one of those buzz words that pops into existence every now and again that people feel compelled to use because other people and organisations are doing so and you feel like you’ll be left behind if you don’t join in.? It’s annoying, really.

I think the whole passion angle comes from the perception that you are focussed on something that is notoriously difficult to achieve (although why Staffordshire should be so singularly difficult, God only knows), and therefore you need to be completely and single-mindedly focussed on it for it to be a success.? ‘I’m so absolutely focussed on providing this impossible win for you’, you are saying, ‘that I’ll go to the very ends of the Earth to deliver it!’? More power to your elbow, say I.

But, here’s the thing…surely it’s better to take all the drama out of it, and actually just get on with delivering it?

As an example, think of colleague and customer experience.? Both are pretty vital to the success of your business, right?? Without customers, you have no business; without happy colleagues, you rarely have the mechanism for generating happy customers.? So, is it right to declare your endless and unyielding passion for these two elements…or would it be better to be able to say, ‘right, we’ve delivered on both of them and will continue to deliver on them’?

In a nutshell, is it better to be known for being passionate about something, or known for being really, really good at something?

That’s where Intraday Automation from QStory can help.

Every Contact Centre business I know would love to offer their workforce a more equitable, fair and flexible working environment.? And they do as much as they possibly can to provide one.? But their efforts are stymied by the need for a veritable army of support staff in order to make it happen.? Every request, every change, every flex has to be processed manually and that makes it expensive, time consuming and cumbersome.? But QStory customers can offer their workforce shift swaps, break moves, last minute leave and more, all at the touch of a button with an immediate, automated response.? And the agents absolutely LOVE these features as they can finally generate the kind of working experience that they would prefer.

And as for your customers, all they really want from you is that they get answered fairly quickly by a knowledgeable and suitably skilled operator who can handle their query correctly and resolve their issue at the first time of asking.? I say ‘all’ - in reality this can be really difficult as the volatility of customer demand (in terms of volume, time of day and chosen channel) make it a job in itself to continually and manually redeploy your agents to meet the customer’s requirements.? But with QStory’ Intraday Automation, you can easily redeploy your workforce quickly and at scale, making sure that you have the right resource in place at the right time, every time.

So you can see how QStory’s Intraday Automation software can help your business replace passion with a provable track record in consistent delivery and user advocacy.? It can help you to achieve your goals and move forward to achieve even greater levels of success, delighting customers and colleagues as you go.??

Now you can go and turn all that pent-up passion towards something else.?
