We often hope success comes quickly at the careers we pursue. Look at a stonecutter hammering at a massive rock expecting it to crack without a show of a crack, they keep hammering at it repeatedly for over a hundred hits and at the hundred and one hit it breaks into two. Remember it was not the last blow that did it, but all the times he kept on applying pressure that did it.
What determines whether we stick to a career or business journey long enough is the passionate interest to learn, to lead and to be led. If it hasnt rained yet keep learning, it will rain in due time. If you feel like giving up right about now on why its not giving yet, take a break and unwind. Take a seat, have a glass of wine with me and welcome home, "mi casa es su casa".
Have you ever dreamt of travelling to Italy? Have you enjoyed their well crafted pizzas, pasta,Lasagna, Risotto and sea food specialities? Travel with me right now and feel right at home at La Casa Di Nico restaurant and wine bar located at the Village Market, Nairobi Kenya.
Walking into Nico's home, you are welcomed by the bright cultural Italian linen giving it a colourful ambience. Just like walking into someone's home, at the door, I was welcomed right in and walked to my table by a service team ready to serve.
Passionate leadership right there from the reception to placing our business lunch order to a welcome home chat by the owner of the restaurant Nico himself. The beautiful display of wine racks got us right into the wine list and ordered for the I Castelli Pinot Grigio which is a light to medium dry rose wine. Mmmmh, you should try the starter cocktail di gamberi, right from the presentation of the prawns in a creamy olive sauce on a bed of fresh lettuce, gives that fresh taste and an immediately excitement to toast to what a perfect lunch it's going to be.
Our Italian dish for this sunny afternoon was the Red snapper alla mugnaia and the risotto alla pescatora. Once again lets toast to the I Castelli Pinot Grigio rose wine from Italy.

After indulging our senses to these Italian delicacies, my friend and I took this time to talk on the need to remain passionate in your career journey even when no is clapping or getting the right recognition for your achievements. The formulae for success today in becoming an influential leader as you develop your career path is your persistent passionate pursuit with the proper actionable systems in place. People trust and believe in what your selling every time you stand up to speak for it and you are found prepared. A great leader is remembered by how deep their influence has engaged and motivated all our senses over time.
We also took this time to talk about the cycle of a job seeker almost in any field or industry. We interestingly found that a job seeker would need to go through a series of events that are intended to make them remain passionate. Firstly is identifying what career path you are taking, the professional education that you currently have to qualify you for that career, a resume that communicates the proven ability to work in that role, your communication and presentation skills, the professional development networking forums attended related to your kind of career, the number of times you need to pray or make incantations according to your spiritual believes to increase your confidence that you are in the right career path and lastly you need to check your ability to handle stress and addictions and a quick reinvention strategy of a new career path in case it takes longer than expected to get the desired career.
A job seekers cycle need not be a gruesome affair but one needs to understand clearly what you are aiming at and most importantly know when and how to take a break to unwind and remain positive.
