Passion, trying one more time and self-mastery
Passion, Determination and a sprinkling of Dedication
I like to think about Passion and Determination as intertwined concepts that we can not do without. For a young dreamer, we start out with passion. Zeal, intense desire, admiration are often characters that we start out with.
As we progress, we find ourselves adding determination and dedication to the mix.
What I have discovered is that people who add determination and dedication to the mix of Passion early enough, find themselves succeeding far more than the passionate dreamers only.
An excerpt from Shane Parrish's newsletter.
People are more adept at working against things than oftentimes we give them credit for. We often think of people working for things when in reality, they work against them.
People work against poverty. They work against their upbringing. They work against failure. They work against some of these things just as much as they are working for them.
Some people are very fear-driven. We talk about fear as being very negative but it also can be very positive, especially in driving results.
You are free to the level of your self mastery
Often we think about freedom as the freedom to do anything like getting an ice - cream cone or watching movies up all night before going to work in the morning. What we often don't realise is that such freedom is like a borrowed loan with a high interest rate.
The consequences for such uninhibited freedom is so severe that it does not worth the initial freedom given in the first place.
True freedom can be gotten from self-mastery. The freedom level given does not come with high interest rate neither is it a loan. It is long lasting. Master yourself and become free.

One more time
I read a poem about trying one more time in my early childhoods. It made one of the greatest impact on my life.
Even after failures, I would ask myself to try once more. Even after success, I would ask myself to try once more.
Now the difference between failure and success is often staying with a problem a little longer. One more design. One more tweak. One more application. One more cold email. One more proposal.
And actually, that's the difference you need to make an impact and generate results.
One More.
Personal note from me
I am at a point in my life which is called the Make it or Break it stage. The things I do with my life now will determine if I can move on to the next stage and get the results I want.
Truth be told, I am terrified. I am scared. I am not certain I trust myself to do it.
I can't tell if I would make it or break it but I would surely go in fighting to my last will and my one more will.
P.S: if my newsletter does not come in as regularly as before, be patient. I am fighting some personal battles here.
I am rooting for you to win!
