The Passion Will Not Stop

The Passion Will Not Stop

In 2016 the Bomber Strap was created, what started out as a side project took over and became a full-time passion.

The original design consisted of a velcro strap that adapted to any size tailgate. A dual layer of neoprene and sewn in straps held the bike over the tailgate, the design was anemic and lacked serious padding. Despite the laughable design, I refused to buy a tailgate pad because I did not want to buy a big pad for one bike! I did not want to cover my entire tailgate or make a big scene. I didn't identify with the concept of a large tailgate pad, it just wasn't me.

Years later after improving the Bomber Strap thousands of other bikers who feel the same way about having a discrete way to carry a bike, enjoy the simplicity of the design and look on their truck. I have not surveyed everyones opinion, its either the option to carry one bike, the minimalistic design, or the cool rugged appearance of a militaristic piece of hardware. If you're wondering; what is the downside? Well, it's not perfect it requires 2 attachment straps to secure the bike and a rotation control strap to prevent the tire from contacting the tailgate. What can appear to be a disadvantage however, actually helps display the bike aesthetically with three points of contact. Furthermore, each contact point is fortified with padding and when it comes time to apply the bike or remove it the system takes no more time than a tailgate rack.

So what is next for the Bomber Strap? That's a great question, the Bomber Strap is not going away anytime soon. As an inventor and passionate mountain biker, I will continue to invest in new technology and find ways to improve the design. We live in dynamic times, change is constant and the bomber strap will continue to evolve through passion.
