Passion and Skills

Passion and Skills

Passion and skills are ideally desirable to have a happy, target oriented and a successful team. Whilst its ideal to find both, the inclination towards finding people with passion should be more as far as my opinion goes.

Passionate people can unlearn and learn any skill sets that are required for the job to be done. The crux of the problem statement is : How to build such a team ?

Categorically speaking with my experiences, below are the snapshots :

  • Find people who are passionate.
  • Nurture people : Through acknowledgement, constructive feedbacks, positive motivations, fulfillment and satisfaction by peer to peer and leader to peer chase towards attaining perfection.
  • Building of trust : Trust is the key, not just in peers but also between peers and leaders, to ensure that fire of passion keeps burning without any flickers.
  • Making the team work like a family with minimal hierarchical standards. Hierarchy used to be a term of the previous century. Current generation of people remain the way they are and put in all they have got into their work, when they feel they are involved, heard, and trusted in decision making and roadmap building.

With the aforementioned points and many more, a team may not be required to work hard and smart with milestones in mind, rather they will set their own high standards and milestones and will chase them with perfection. Hard and smart work, determination and dedication will automatically be imbibed as core values in people who have fire burning in them. All we need to do is let the fire burn, nurture people, trust them and the results will follow. This will create the difference between people having jobs and people having a career.
