Passion for People, Places and Projects - A Decade of learning and growing and prospering - #20NOG21

Earl Nightingale defined success as the progressive realization of a worthy ideal. And I completely agree with him.

While the organizers of the Nigeria Oil & Gas Conference NOG marks 20 years of serving the oil and gas industry and helping to set the nation’s agenda for the decade of gas, it was also an opportunity for some personal reflection on my journey within the industry since the last 10 years and as a disciplined follower, I hope this message inspires the organizers to create an #Award for a category of passionate industry enthusiast desirous of #connecting, and #learning and #growing and #prospering.

So, here are a few things I have done since getting to know of the #NOG in 2011.

-?????Hopped on a night bus to attend my first NOG Conference as a visitor in 2012

-?????Set a target to be inside the delegate session in the next 2-3 years of attending the conference

-?????Borrowed a Delegate pass to meet with the then ES, @NCDMB Ernest Nwapa to discuss my ideas about creating an innovative access solutions for the industry enabling construction, inspection, maintenance and replacements to be carried out with ease and in a safe and efficient manner

-?????Became an Exhibitor through a strategic partnership from knowledge gained in previous NOGs

-?????Became a Delegate

-?????Became a Sponsor

Since my very first visit, I have met over 500+ global energy leaders and over-achievers ready to share their wealth of knowledge with me (yes, because I usually come prepared with a lorry load of questions). Over-achievers who have lend me their expertise and reveal secrets for success that one can apply instantly and see transformative results.

My journey has shown that the NOG and other similar industry events are designed for the seriously ambitious entrepreneurs that truly desires to turn their businesses or ideas to multi-million dollars legacy enterprises.

I have learned some of the hidden secrets of how the IOCs and operators legally protect their assets.

I have met millionaires, potential partners and investors.

I have sat and listened to exceptionally talented innovators whose solutions will continue to shape the industry in the next decade during the technical sessions.

I have discovered networking secrets used by the super rich within the industry as they gather

Most importantly and critically too, I have reconditioned my #mind to think like the billionaires.

I have said all of these to let us know a compelling vision and commitment is all we need to attain any height in life. This is not to say we have achieved all that we set out to do, but to to show we are on a progressive course.

So, as we go into the next decade with the increasing call for nations to pursue cleaner energy sources, it is my hope that the NOG and other similar industry events will continue to draw thousands of the world’s best and brightest innovators to help hungry and passionate enthusiast like us to continue to #learn, increase our ability to #earn and ultimately give higher #returns in terms of personal and professional growth while solving market frictions, impacting society and making a difference.

I will not fail to thank all the people who have continued to challenge, encourage, inspire and support me on this journey, I do not take them forgranted. All the glory goes to God Almighty.
