PASSING THE TEST(part 9)
TEXT: Deut 8:2-5
2 Remember how the LORD your God led you all the way in the desert these forty years, to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands. 3 He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD. 4 Your clothes did not wear out and your feet did not swell during these forty years. 5 Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the LORD your God disciplines you.

VIII.??THE LOYALTY TEST
??????? A.???? Loyalty is tested in adversity.
James 1:8 A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.
Hebrews 10:24,25 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works; not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
What is loyalty? Feeling of allegiance or act of binding yourself, intellectually and emotionally to something
?
We must be about the task of being the churches that God has called us to be in the communities where He has placed us. And we must make sure that our loyalty to Him is steadfast and sure.
- Unwavering
- Unchanging
- Unlimited
- Unconditional
- Unstoppable
?
More damage is done to our witness through divided loyalty than by any other means. So the simple question that I would like to pose for each of us to consider :
?
Where is your loyalty? Could it be said of you that you “worship the Lord, but also serve your own gods”?
I. LOYALTY TO GOD SUPERSEDES ALL OTHER LOYALTIES.
A. The first commandment that God gave to Moses was “You shall have no other gods before me.”
i. God is serious about our loyalty to Him.
