On Passing the CCNA R/S 10 Years Ago Today!

A decade really does fly by quickly and adds credence to the adage that "A journey of a 1,000 miles begins with one single step".

It seems like only yesterday that I walked out of the exam center beaming with smiles and patting myself on the back on my new credential after two false starts due to technical challenges had robbed me this privilege. It felt good to join the ranks of the "elite" Cisco Certified network professionals running the worldwide networks that power the information and digital economy of the 21st century and to brandish the shiny new Cisco logo on my profile. It wasn't an easy process as I have shared on my blog but the passion and the drive to become successful in that chosen field of endeavour kept me going till I reached the finish line, which was only the beginning of an exciting journey.

While the CCNA R/S exam has changed in leaps and bounds in the last 10 years, some things haven't changed much in our experience as humans. In the next few days and weeks I will share my thoughts on topics such as job hunting, mentorship, career growth, goal-setting giving back to the community, humility, the power of focus, positive thinking, sacrifice and money as I have reflected on the last decade. I hope my experiences and lessons learnt will help someone out there navigate the next 10 years of their lives with success!
