Iceland’s Wow Air has abruptly shut down and cancelled all its flights, leaving passengers stranded. Earlier this week, the budget airline announced it was in advanced restructuring discussions after being hit by falling tourist numbers, rising oil prices and low-cost airline competition. It’s the latest European airline to collapse — Germania, Primera Air, Flybmi, Monarch and Air Berlin are among the 30 carriers that have folded since 2017. ? Here’s what people are saying.
UK MPs are set to vote today on a revamped Brexit withdrawal agreement — and if it passes, the country will leave the EU on May 22, the BBC reports. The agreement in question covers the divorce bill, citizens’ rights and the Irish backstop but not the declaration on the UK’s future relationship with the EU. Speaker John Bercow, who last week rejected a third vote on the grounds that the deal was still substantially the same, said this would count as a new motion. ? Here’s what people are saying.
Swedbank has stood down CEO Birgitte Bonnesen amid a €135 billion money-laundering scandal. Bonnesen’s ousting follows that of Danske Bank’s Thomas Borgen, who resigned after the lender admitted it let €200 billion of suspicious payments flow through its Estonian branch. ? The deal to build the Ferris wheel is worth around €4 million, per The Local. The UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of Italy’s most popular tourist attractions, drawing some 3.5 million visitors to the fragile area each year. ? Here’s what people are saying.

A new report from CB Insights Research looks at 12 sectors millennials are accused of sabotaging, including breakfast cereal — which the generation treats as a snack, instead of as a breakfast food. The decline of some industries and services can all too easily be blamed on millennials, according to the research, but the real cause is companies failing to adapt. ? Here’s what people are saying.
