Pasadena Rosebud Academy Resets for Future Success

As some of you may or may not know, we recently lost our home in the Eaton fire. It was devastating. It redefined for our family what it meant to have "something" and have it taken away from you instantly. The loss and grief that come with that is real.

However, we've been blessed to be surrounded by some amazing friends and family members who love us and have continued to help us in ways we could have never imagined. They are pivotal to helping us get back on our feet. In addition, LA and Pasadena has offered relief (food, clothes, essentials, money) to also help as well. We're grateful for all of it!!

My son's school Pasadena Rosebud Academy, was also burned to ash. We are helping them on their campaign to rebuild as we continue to rebuild ourselves.

Rosebud Academy is more than a school—it’s a family, a community, and a home for the Altadena community students. Rosebud was a pillar in the community. Once called Loma Alta school, Rosebud employs a family that represents the community. They have adults who were once students who went there over 50 years ago and are community leaders, young teachers who are making a difference, and educators who care about the families who attend the school. As one of the ONLY Black and LatinX charter schools in the community who sends students to high achieving independent schools and top public school programs alike, Rosebud mirrored a segment of the Altadena community.
