Let's talk about something we've all experienced: office parties.
Office parties are?synonymous with 'fun' for a lot of people. But my concept of fun seemed somewhat different.
Picture this: loud music, a sea of people, and myself, discreetly tucked away in my favorite corner chair.
I was fortunate to have one extrovert friend, you know, the kind of person who virtually adopted me?at gatherings. She'd get me?a mocktail and guide me?through the the crowd, making sure I was?at complete?ease in my?small introverted refuge.
My primary activity from my cozy chair, mocktail in hand, was OBSERVATION.
Parties became a fascinating study of people-watching for me. I saw how others showed joy, enthusiasm, or a sense of awe. It was intriguing to learn and rediscover social cues away from the spotlight.
And?obviously, let us discuss BOUNDARIES. It was so?important that others acknowledged my personal space.
The extrovert became my invisible ally, guaranteeing that I enjoyed my time without compromising my introverted psyche.
When my social battery was nearing the end of its life, gracefully leaving became my strategy.
Let's face it: would we leave a noisy party for the peace and quiet of our introverted retreats? Absolutely YES!
