A partnership that gives every installer the edge

Jeff Dunn, our Group Sales & Commercial Director, shares how our partnership with VEKA helps us to deliver technical advice for our installers.

Our customers range from commercial installers to sole traders focusing on home renovations. To best meet their needs, we tailor our approach, working closely with our installer partners to understand their challenges, the markets in which they operate, and the demands of their own customers.

For commercially-focused installers, that might come in the form of in-depth product knowledge or non-standard offerings, while domestic installers might look for added value in the form of marketing support. Technical advice can be hugely important and beneficial for our customers, and we offer support in areas including product specification and the latest building regulations and compliance.

Partnering with VEKA UK gives our installers access to sound technical advice from VEKA Technical Director, Paul Kennington , and his team along with our own technical experts, ensuring projects are delivered on time and in scope and highlighting any concerns early on.

Our sales and technical teams also have access to VEKA's WinDoPlan. This clever tool means we can assist commercial installers with drawings and design amendments and run scenarios on how the products will perform based on factors like frame design, wind loading, and installation postcode. It means we can provide customers with insight at every stage of the project, from the initial tender to final installation.

By being involved with our installers right at the start of projects, we can help prevent them wasting time and money further down the line. Having input early means we can support with amends, suggestions and alternatives that can make a real difference to the project, determining at quote stage if the frame design will meet the necessary criteria and current testing guidelines for all accreditations. Using WinDoPlan means we can assist in the design stage with the necessary technical cross-sectional drawings, using formatted drawings that can be dropped into planning tools with just a few clicks of a mouse.

The invaluable support of Paul Kennington and the VEKA Technical team was called upon recently for a customer looking to installer 90 inline patio doors in a high-rise building, with our sales team concerned about possible wind loads.

Following a discussion with Paul, he highlighted a further issue with the number of hours of sunlight the dark foil colours would be exposed to. It was suggested to the client that the specification be changed for more suitable French doors, which was agreed to, and the installation has since been successfully completed.

Paul, who is an integral part of the GGF systems group, is a leader in his field and his knowledge and expertise gives over installers a competitive edge. Alongside sound technical advice, VEKA also excels at sustainability, leading the way in delivering a closed-loop recycling system for UK fenestration through VEKA Recycling Limited , based very close to our HQ in Wellingborough. We often take customers and prospects to the site to demonstrate its incredible capacity, and it never fails to impress. In 2023, we agreed on a deal for virgin offcut material and frames for disposal to be collected and recycled, which will contribute to reducing waste to landfill and ensure that materials are kept within the UK.

At the heart of the Glazerite-VEKA partnership is a desire to provide our installer partners with a broad choice of high quality products and tailored technical solutions, underpinned by a strong supply chain and exceptional customer service.
