Partnership agreement between Outsight and Level Five Supplies

Outsight, the leading LiDAR software company, has teamed up with Level Five Supplies in order to help system integrators quickly launch LiDAR-based projects.

Outsight’s mission is to make it incredibly easy to integrate 3D LiDAR data into any application thanks to its plug-and-play Spatial Intelligence solution, the Augmented LiDAR Box (ALB).

As a result, the ALB has been used in a wide variety of industries and contexts, including smart city applications, security, airports, robots, smart vehicles, and many more.

The ALB is the first software 3D data processor that works with any LiDAR and was developed by a team of experts who accumulated more than 18 years of experience working with this technology.

It contains all the essential features required to integrate 3D sensors into your project (SLAM, Mapping & Relocalization, Object Detection and Tracking, Segmentation & Classification) and is pre-installed in a hardware device that replaces the LiDAR's interface box, so you don’t need to install it on your computer.

Streamlining RAW data into actionable information

Outsight’s software processes LiDAR’s raw data in real-time and converts it into actionable information that comes in a standard and open-format data stream. This fundamental capability enables many use cases, such as autonomous mobility, security alerts, and traffic monitoring for example.

The next video shows an example of real-time SLAM processing by the ALB:

The LiDAR SLAM algorithm uses data collected by a LiDAR to simultaneously localize and map an area in 3D.

Because the ALB knows how the sensor has moved (both in translation and orientation) from the previous frame, the frame points can be accumulated over time in a consistent point cloud.

Then, from the frame where the feature was triggered to the current one, a super-resolution frame can be created, revealing details of the scene that would otherwise be missed.
