Partner with us to help develop new economic models to tackle the cost of living
Here’s something we know for sure: the challenges our communities face—inequality, isolation, rising costs—aren’t going to fix themselves. I wrote about the insights from the Resolution Foundation powerful report Unsung Britain. But here’s something else we know: solutions don’t need to be imposed from above. The answers are already out there, in the creativity, resilience, and lived experience of the people who live and work in our neighbourhoods.
We’ve seen this in action. From grassroots initiatives tackling the cost of living to community-led projects on inclusion and cohesion, change happens when we empower people to lead. We've heard this in our Community Leaders series of events. And now, we’re inviting you—organisations, partnerships and networks with bold ideas—to join us in taking that work to the next level. This is another example of how we're redesigning - not just services or ways of working, but how we support communities .
This is your chance to be part of something bigger: a bid to shape thriving, inclusive communities together.
What this bid is all about
This isn’t just another funding opportunity. It’s an invitation to reimagine how we develop new economic models to tackle the cost of living—together. Thanks to external funding from the Government's Shared Prosperity Fund, the bid focuses on projects that:
It’s about doing things differently. Building on what’s already working. Trusting communities to lead. And finding innovative, resilient partners who share our vision.
Inclusion and cohesion
We know that belonging is everything. That’s why our work on inclusion and cohesion focuses on breaking down barriers and building trust.
What’s next: With this bid, we’re want to fund a delivery partner to support projects tackling the cost of living to scale and grow, developing new economic models..
Tackling the cost of living
The cost of living crisis has hit hard. As councils, we are supporting our residents through a range of support . We also want to empower communities to grow initiatives they're already putting in practice to support people.
What’s next: This bid is about going further. Supporting projects that don’t just respond to the crisis but create long-term resilience.
Championing participation
Participation isn’t just something we do; it’s who we are. From our Community Leaders series to our Neighbourhood Fund and our VCSE Commissioning, we're putting people at the centre of everything.
What’s next: With this bid, we’re looking for partners who will work side-by-side with communities to deliver real, lasting change.

3 天前Noel - I’d love to have a conversation about how we can support this work. We won’t bid for it, as I think it should go to a third sector consortium, but we’d love to contribute some thinking, learning and joining-up to the wider region.
