Partner spotlight: GARTH STOLE & NEW DAY MOVING
Garth Stole is a down-to-earth, native St. Louisan who stumbled into the moving industry. Starting while he was a student at Webster Groves High School and through college, Garth enjoyed working for moving companies. During this time, he learned the ins and outs of the business and realized that he had a passion for helping people move.
After finishing college, he spent some time in sales and staffing. But after being laid off, he realized he’d rather own a business. So, naturally, he went back to what he loved best, moving companies. After saving the money and buying a truck, he started New Day Moving in 2015.
Garth takes pride in keeping a personal connection with his customers. He knows that moving can be a stressful experience, so he goes out of his way to ensure his customers are happy and comfortable. As a result, his business has grown steadily over the years. He now has a team of loyal employees who share his commitment to excellent customer service.
As with most industries, moving companies are moving certain operations and customer functions online. As a result, it’s not uncommon for a customer to go into a web portal, input requested data and receive an estimate based on that information. However, Garth still provides onsite estimates for his clients.
Visiting the location personally allows him to see things and ask questions a customer might not know is important. Plus, they can ask him questions and receive answers on the spot. And, while he admits that he rarely quotes the lowest possible price, he’d rather give people realistic expectations of the cost. He’d rather minimize times when the final bill is higher or, even better, tell someone their final bill is lower.
This approach has served him well over the years. His clients appreciate his honest and straightforward approach to moving services. Moving is a big undertaking, and it’s one that most people can’t do on their own. That’s why many people turn to professional movers to help them get the job done. However, even professional movers can’t always predict what will happen on moving day. Sometimes, family?and friends who promised to help with the move don’t show up.
That’s when New Day Moving steps in. The team is always prepared for more work because they know things don’t always go as planned on moving day. Another way he likes to provide that extra service is reflected in his care of customers’ homes. Frequently, other moving companies will simply pay for any damages that occur during the move. However, the New Day Moving staff will try to repair minor damage themselves — it’s a touch that takes stress off their clients. Additionally, Garth and his team will hook up appliances and reposit boxes in rooms upon request — understanding that moving can be chaotic. These extra steps help make the process better for New Day’s customers and provide them with a top-tier moving experience.
New Day customer Meredith shares, “New Day Moving did an excellent job! We used them to do a local move in St. Louis. They were so thorough and careful with everything. Nothing broke at all! The movers asked a lot of questions so they could get everything placed where we wanted, and they were fine moving furniture around a few times until we were happy with their placements.

We will definitely use them again.” Customer Jean states, “I have personally used Garth and his services on more than one occasion — once for a local move and?once for a long-distance move. Several of my friends and family members have used them as well, at my suggestion. Their service is impeccable.” While sometimes they take long-distance moves, most of their work occurs within 150 miles of St. Louis. Garth shares that seeing new places on long-distance moves is one of his secret pleasures.
If you’re considering a move in the near future, Garth shares the following advice:
? Look for a moving company at least 30 days before you need them. During the height of the pandemic, moving companies’ schedules were overloaded. But even now, schedules are usually booked out for several weeks.
? Prepare for needing more help than expected from the moving company. Many times, despite their best intentions, family and friends aren’t able to provide promised support. New Day will help, but it does change the cost of the service.
? Do your research on a prospective moving company. Check out their website and make sure they are legitimate. It’s usually best when you can talk to a live representative. Local companies are often easier to verify.
When he’s not busy helping customers move, Garth loves spending time with his girlfriend, Cait, and their dogs, Savannah and Octavius. Together they enjoy spending time camping and take an annual trip to Arkansas. His spring highlight was watching Albert Pujols hit his first home run back with the Cardinals.
