Partner with Denmark at NYC Climate Week

Partner with Denmark at NYC Climate Week

In only two weeks, New York City is set to host the world’s largest annual climate event of its kind. From 22-29 September, dignitaries, industry leaders, heads of states and asset managers will use the United Nations General Assembly as a backdrop to discuss the world’s most pressing climate issues and pave the way for a successful COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan. With a host of Danish partners present throughout the week, Denmark is actively engaging in the global climate dialogue, highlighting partnership models, policies and tangible solutions en route to a net-zero future.

?Fuelled by an aim to mobilise global connections and new avenues for public-private climate engagements, State of Green will organise multiple events focusing on three overarching areas:

  • Mobilising catalytic climate finance –?financing the green transition is one of the biggest challenges of our time and it is crucial that the investment gap is bridged to build resilient societies and boost the buildout of renewables. With uncertainties among investors being a main reason for the lack of climate financing, debates will focus on ways to mobilise public and private finance that accelerate the implementation of tangible solutions in developed as well as emerging and developing markets. As a steppingstone to COP29, State of Green is partnering with the World Climate Summit to host a roundtable focused on catalysing climate finance.??
  • Implementing of the Global Biodiversity Framework to bridge business and biodiversity – with the Kumming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, the urgency to address the biodiversity crisis has been underscored by both the public and private sectors. Discussion will bring together key stakeholders from across sectors to explore strategies and joint efforts to push the needle on biodiversity conservation. In this vein, State of Green is partnering with the World Climate Foundation to host a roundtable on the business case for biodiversity at the World Biodiversity Summit.
  • Delivering on COP28’s commitment to triple global renewable energy capacity by 2030?– The UAE consensus at COP28 saw?all parties commit to a global tripling of renewable energy capacity by 2030. Achieving this goal will require unprecedented cooperation between governments, industries and communities to scale up renewable energy deployment. Events will focus on sharing best-practices and coming up with new ways to bring clean and affordable energy to all.

Engage with potential Danish partners

As part of NYC Climate Week, Danish players across green industries will yet again join hands at the Sustainability Summit NYC. The summit will feature more than 20 sessions with focus on fostering a collective drive towards sectoral change within energy, environment, finance, life science, food and agriculture, tech and design. Creating a strong Danish presence and space for global discussions around the realisation of the 2030 agenda, the platform is an invitation to global partners seeking to team up with Danish peers.
