Participating in the Latino Entrepreneurs Week Pitch Contest: A Journey of Purpose and Preparation

As an entrepreneur, every opportunity to share your vision is an opportunity to grow, and yesterday I had the privilege to do just that. I recently learned about a pitch competition that was being hosted by the Latino Founders Day Team for Latino Entrepreneurs Week. I decided this amazing opportunity was too good to miss, so I signed up to participate, making this my first pitch as an entrepreneur with Level Up Education Consultancy. This experience was nothing short of exhilarating, and it tested my ability to think on my feet and distill my business’s purpose into two concise pitches: a 30-second and a 3-minute presentation.
The funny thing is, I wasn’t originally planning to compete this year, the registration said 2024 or 2025. The competition date for 2024 was literally within 24 hours, and my pitch deck was due by noon. Additionally, I would need I would need to prepare and perfect both pitches. I took the challenge head-on, dedicating every minute of that time to shaping my message and delivering it with confidence. It was nerve-wracking yet empowering, and to my surprise, my 30-second pitch put me into the final round to deliver my 3-minute pitch for the chance to win the grand prize of $10,000.
Although I didn’t walk away with the grand prize, I gained something much more valuable—experience. My focus was "progress" not "perfection". This contest reminded me why I started this entrepreneurial journey in the first place. Level Up Education Consultancy is about more than just providing services; it’s about building lives with intention, impacting schools, organizations, and individuals in ways that foster long-lasting success.
Through this pitch contest, I renewed my sense of purpose. My work matters. The services I provide—whether it’s educational consulting, leadership development, or career coaching—are designed to create meaningful change in the lives of those I serve. Being able to articulate that mission in such a short amount of time made me realize just how much my work resonates, not only with me but with others who believe in this purpose.
Winning isn’t always about the prize money but about the process. I’m grateful for the chance to share my vision with a broader audience, and the feedback and connections I made will serve as catalysts for Level Up Education Consultancy’s growth. This is just the beginning.

To everyone who supported me, thank you. I may not have taken home the grand prize, but I’ve walked away with invaluable lessons and a sense of accomplishment that’s far more rewarding.
