this also include a part looking at the present technology development stage of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation #reinventedtoilets #GenerationIIReinventedtoilets #G2RT, diverting toilets, urine derived fertilisers, water saving technology and more.

In among others above context it was so good and nice being invited by Georgia Institute of Technology and Georgia Tech-Europe to the very interesting program of "Georgia Tech Innovation Showcase - Zurich Generation II Reinvented Toilet Showcase" at Hyatt Regency Zurich Airport The Circle & The Circle Convention Center in Zürich, Switzerland and at Helbling Technik in Will and to be able to combine this in Zürich with visiting Eawag, VunaNexus, the new building #FLUX and the #waterhub in the Empa Eawag #Nest building.

Studying litterature about #G2RT the very informative page as in below

describing the technologies in details and with links to very detailed patents is central and to have a presentation and showcase by Shannon Yee from Georgia Institute of Technology in lead of the project and the different teams including about 70 scientists working on the project is very helpful.

not least combined with long interesting conversations about the backend as well as frontend technologies in the modular bathroom (toilet) appliances including further development and complexity reduction and options recycling the processed urine separate or together with feces cakes or ash from feces and toilet paper.

Working with diverting and vacuum toilets for 30 years I was very happy that they have decided to go with a diverting frontend based on a frontend based on EOOS NEXT urine trap and a soft vacuum flushing only 0,2 - 0,6 l collecting and processing urine separate in the backend and also to have conversations with EOOS NEXT about it. This give so many further options of levels of urine treatment and further options for volume reduced more concentrated feces treatment maybe even energy efficient processing only one to two batches a day. I also mentioned that it would be good to ad a recycling standard to the ISO 30500 standard also giving credit to technologies energy efficiently recycling nutrients.

At Helbling Technik in Wil a #G2RT modular front- and backend bathroom (toilet) appliance were showcased in details and explained by among others Shannon Yee from Georgia Institute of Technology, Christian Seiler from Helbling Technik and Lotte Kristoferitsch from EOOS NEXT again with interesting conversations.

I am looking forward to follow the development and to further conversation regarding transforming and disruptive innovation, technologies, regulation and policy putting new tools in a new tool box.
