Part3: Going MAD – Massive Amount of Data
There is no single technology solve our Big data problem, It is a combination of different technologies which includes but not limited to below,
Hadoop, NoSQL DBs and Open source and proprietary solutions. We need to play around properly when choosing the technology stack. Since one person medicine might be poison of the other one.
Apache Hadoop:
It consists of two core components,
- Hadoop HDFS
- Hadoop MapReduce
NoSQL Databases:
The characteristics of NoSQL DBs are,
- Schema Free
- Store huge amount of data
Broadly we have 4 different categories are there in NoSQL
There are different choices available in the Industry for the above said Categories, However I am just marking the important one out of my experience,
Pls note: There are more than 100 NoSQL DB solutions available in the market (COTS/Open Source)
