To be part of something special...

I am part of something truly special, I really am! I am part of an amazing company with a rich culture, a strong heritage and the biggest heart and this has never been more apparent than when listening to our company meeting today.

Friday marked our celebration of Carolyn Tanner Irish, our Chairman of the OC Tanner board for 25 years and a truly inspirational leader to me and to many others! She was presented with her award by her son and yes there were tears (from me!!!) watching from afar.

It reminded me once again that authentic recognition moments transcend borders and it really doesn’t matter that I didn’t watch it live because the technologies that we have surrounding us today make everything possible and allow us to capture the sentiment, the emotion, the looks on people’s faces that allows you to be in that moment, to share it, to be part of something amazing.

In the meeting, I heard stories from our leaders from yesteryear to today talking to the culture that was started so long ago and how those same ideals still guide our decisions. The belief that OC Tanner can be led through a culture of kindness AND a culture of high performance – one doesn’t have to be compromised for the other and that the belief that quality and service matter above all else, still runs through our lifeblood today.

Today, I feel so proud to be part of this, to be able to carry on living and breathing this culture here in Europe as we grow our company around the world. I feel more connected to our purpose than ever before and it pushes me ever onwards to help organisations see that appreciation changes everything!!!
