The blockchain (public and private) is a critical piece of the puzzle, alongside other technologies such as digital twin, AI, IoT, AR/VR/MR/XR, 5G (ultimately 6G), and more —that enables innovative use cases in Metaverse, Web 3.0 and Industry 4.0. Making the Metaverse, the future of the internet use cases, reality requires a fundamental shift in how we build and deliver products in the innovation landscape and across the value chain from networks to infrastructure, applications, and services.?

Recently, I had an opportunity to chat with many boundary-breaking passionate individuals and innovative companies. In this article, I am privileged to share about incredible innovators ( Samer Bishay , Mircea Lepadatu , and their team) from?SPEKTRUM?-Decentralized Mobile Network over a Carrier-Grade Public Ledger MADE-IN-CANADA :). Spektrum's primary goal is to decentralize wireless infrastructure and democratize mobile network access by offering the world's first commercial-grade, community-owned 5G network infrastructure. As a result, it has the potential to disrupt current centralized ownership/business models within the telecom industry and pave the way toward ubiquitous mobile coverage and more liberal, cheaper internet access across the globe.

The future network built on the foundation of openness that is accessible and affordable is critical to offering the next-generation-connected-immersive Metaverse use cases that bring together physical, digital, and human worlds served by products, platforms, solutions, and services. Kudos to Spektrum's efforts in empowering consumers worldwide to experience a higher quality of service and pay lower mobile access tariffs based on fair pricing principles without having to stand for unjustified heavy premiums made possible by lack of competition and unfair advantages. An obvious winner recipe for delivering complex and high-performance Metaverse use cases.?

As I dug deep into understanding how they do it, I found several unique and innovative approaches Spektrum is set out to deliver their intended technology architecture and business results. They will provide the future of wireless networks involves communities of people who share their internet connection with others, creating decentralized collaborative wireless networks capable of providing connectivity to other private users as well as enterprises and mobile network operators.
