In the previous article, we saw the power of DDMRP and benefits over traditional MRP planning. This article will focus more on the use of DDMRP in D365 Supply chain Management platform. DDMRP is included with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management and requires no additional license fees. In Supply Chain Management, DDMRP functionality has been added to the existing?Master planning?module. However, it requires that you use the Planning Optimization Add-in.
DDMRP is integrated with the existing planning setups in Supply Chain Management and is used together with those setups to arrive at the correct planning configuration for your business. It's controlled by a new coverage code that is completely different from period, min/max, requirement, and so on. It isn't a new module, and it doesn't replace existing planning functionality. However, it does give you more functionality to use. It’s simple to set up. Just enable?Priority Driven MRP support for Planning Optimization?and?DDMRP for Planning Optimization?in Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management.
Microservices, like the Planning Optimization Add-in, are one way to quickly realize value from an ERP migration to the cloud. They deliver benefits such as better performance by offloading workloads to the cloud and improving adaptability by allowing you to react to changing demand in real-time. Ultimately, these investments in planning-related improvement features are designed to reduce stockouts and lower the cost of on-hand inventory, all while ensuring that more customer orders are fulfilled on time and in full.
With Planning Optimization, companies can benefit from:
