Be part of global perspectives of micro, small and medium enterprises on 27th June - World MSME Day 2022

Every year on June 27th, Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) Day is celebrated to honour their role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) account for up to 90% of businesses, 60% to 70% of employment, and they account for half of global GDP, according to the United Nations (UN).

The Global Council for the Promotion of International Trade is an organization based in India, South Africa, the United States and the United Kingdom with board & council member representation across the world. We have been celebrating?WORLD MSME DAY for the last 3 years.

This year, we are celebrating the Day with global perspectives from various departments, ministries, chambers of commerce and international organizations.?We believe that global perspectives have a significant impact on paving the way to the future. “Coordinated global response is key to MSMEs’ post-pandemic economic recovery“, says Deputy Director-General Xiangchen Zhang, World Trade Organization.

World MSME Day is an important opportunity to look at this topical issue in a very practical and policy-oriented way in the global context of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. Here, we ask the rest of the world to work together to help MSMEs get through the current crisis and build up their ability to handle future shocks. We encourage GCPIT Members to create an open, fair, non-discriminatory, and predictable global trade and business environment that helps and encourages MSMEs to participate in international trade and business.

We will be seeking the answers to below mentioned key questions:

  • How has been the recovery of the MSME sector so far during and post Covid-19.
  • MSME Financing Instruments in the country during and post COVID-19.
  • The key highlights of policies and strategies for building a self-reliant economy. Can this percolate down well to micro-enterprises as the majority of MSMEs are micro-units?
  • How is the current scenario in terms of job creation in the MSME sector?
  • What Impact do Public-Private Partnerships Have on Economic Growth?
  • How are leaders promoting PPPs?
  • Strategy for Creative Economy Development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises?
