Part 5: Assertions Regarding the Responsible Management of Data

Apologies for the lull in posting, but we're back!

ASSERTION #0: Data is the Observable Product of a Change in State https://www.dhirubhai.net/pulse/assertions-responsible-management-data-ian-kelly-ls0je/?trackingId=mpg7dEs4Q6Wd7ypTVXlyVg%3D%3D

ASSERTION #1: Data Is Property https://www.dhirubhai.net/pulse/part-2-assertions-regarding-responsible-management-data-ian-kelly-ooste/?trackingId=LMywfQaQvq360SJwKUVusQ%3D%3D

ASSERTION #2: Data Has Ownership And Provenance https://www.dhirubhai.net/pulse/part-3-assertions-regarding-responsible-management-data-ian-kelly-xnxxe/?trackingId=5P2q0wygSdqXOnmt%2BQCZuw%3D%3D

ASSERTION #3: If Data Can Be Verified, It Can Be A Claim https://www.dhirubhai.net/pulse/part-4-assertions-regarding-responsible-management-data-ian-kelly-0uene

ASSERTION #4: One Can Use Digital Claims To Enter Into A Secure Digital Interaction Without Revealing The Content Of Digital Claims Or Providing Excessive Personal Information

By having a collection of digital claims bound to a Digital Identity, I can enter into an interaction governed by a digital agreement based on those claims in exchange for the benefit of a service or product or relationship. The digital agreement, think of it as a persistent Smart Contract, but whose terms are based on claims outside of the Blockchain, is a structure that binds 2 or more Digital Identities together based on executable conditions. Let me illustrate by example; Catfishing.? You stumble upon a post by someone on your social medias, you think, “I’d like to be friends with this person”. Perfectly natural human impulse, except do you know it's a real person (bot?)?, are they who they say they are (age, location, etc.)? So how do you initially engage (bootstrap) a friendship? How do you know it’s not some? 80yr old?across town who used ChatGPT to craft a post specifically to catch your eye? By tying identity to real world claims and embedding the validity of those claims into the T&C’s of a digital agreement, you can be reasonably assured they cannot be other than they claim all without revealing the underlying data of those claims.

Stay tuned for the rest of the series.

ASSERTION #5: One Can Be Assured Of Secure Connectivity Between People Using The Terms Of A Digital Agreement

ASSERTION #6: If Provenance And Identity Are Assured, Data Can Be Open And Secure

ASSERTION #7: If I Control The Usage Of My Data, Any Processing On That Data Is No Longer “On My Behalf”, It Is “As If” I Am Executing The Processing.

ASSERTION #8: If My Digital Activity Is Secure And Repeatable, The Collection Of These Digital Agreements and Digital Claims Becomes My Verifiable Online Identity, Even If I Am Anonymous, Pseudonymous, Or Acting On Behalf Of An Organization.

Ian, great stuff. Wish you were still at the bank!
